You will have to contact your test centre to postpone or cancel the IELTS booking. Postponement or cancellation of IELTS is guided by the following regulations:
- You will get a partial refund after deducting the administrative fee if you cancel or postpone the test more than 5 weeks before the scheduled date.
- You will have to forego the full test fee if you cancel or postpone the test less than 5 weeks from your scheduled date. However, if you can provide sufficient proof of a serious medical emergency, you may be allowed to do so without additional charges.

If you could not attend your scheduled IELTS test without prior notice, you would most likely lose your test fees altogether. However, you stand the chance to receive a refund minus the local administrative charges, if you can submit a medical certificate from a competent authority within 5 days of missing the test. If on the test day, you get late for the test for some unforeseen reason beyond your control, please inform the test centre immediately and they may allow you to take the test on the next available date.
